Cakebread Cellars very generously donated a mixed case of their wonderful wine, including two 750-ml bottles each of 08 Sauvignon Blanc, 08 Chardonnay, 06 Merlot, 06 Cabernet Sauvignon, 06 Syrah, & 05 Zinfandel. Retail Value: $536.00.
2008 Sauvignon Blanc- Gold medal award winner at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine competition.
2008 Sauvignon Blanc- This lightly fragrant sauvignon has the classic “cat pee on a gooseberry bush” character of the grape. It’s clean and tart wine to serve with pasta tossed with English peas. 90 points, Wine & Spirits.
2005 Zinfandel- Peppery spice is the hallmark of this wine. Other than that, it’s very Cabernet-like. Dry, full-bodied and balance, it shows luscious black currant and chocolate flavors, and the tannins are smooth and ripe as anywhere on earth. 92 points, Wine Enthusiast
Cakebread will ship to every state except Arizona, Alabama, Arkansas, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Montana, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and Utah.

[How it works- Each auction lot will get its own post. As soon as it gets its own post, the auction is live. Once a bit of time has passed, and people really know about Wine for Haiti, lots will go live AND HOT. Once hot, each lot is on a 24-hour cycle, ending at 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time. If a lot goes a full 24 hours, from 10:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., without a new bid, the last bid in the comments wins. If we get into a bidding war, with the same people going back and forth, one day at a time, we will post something in the comments of that Auction Lot and schedule a time to bid to the death, at a time mutually agreeable to everybody involved.]
