The nose shows black currant and eucalyptus. Loads of complexity show on the palate, with black currant, mint, and eucalyptus joined by tobacco leaf and high-toned red fruit. Tannins are dusty and acids surprisingly bright. The finish falls off a bit quickly, but everything about this says buy some and put it in the cellar. It has so much to offer, and with a few years downstairs it will all knit together beautifully. While not inexpensive, this is very reasonably priced for a wine that will get better with time. Highly recommended on spec, 90 points. DBH
