A beautiful, bright gem-like garnet color greets you in the glass. Black fruit shows on the nose, with a hint of tobacco from the tiny amount of Cabernet Franc sneaking out. Classic Napa Cabernet Sauvignon cassis and a touch of blackberry come through on the palate. Six years out from harvest this is still a very young wine, dusty tannins, good acids, and a youthful brightness. Floral violet notes suggest layers that will come through with at lest another five years in the cellar. This is a very good wine at a reasonable price. Drink with a brilliant burger, ground prime with shaved truffles and onion straws. Highly Recommended. 93 points. DBH
