Deceptively explosive and expressive, this is a true gem. Blueberry and elderberry on the nose barely hint at the explosive palate to follow. It opens with blue and black fruits and asian spices, fruits that seem to increase in concentration toward the mid-palate, like they were being turned from fruit
This is a floral treat from John Duval, the former Chief Winemaker at Penfolds. A bowl of aromatic white flowers blow up from the glass, followed by poached pear. The palate is just as floral. Magnolias and citrus blossoms, with poached pears, make up the initial flavors on the palate.
