Le Strette helped rescue the nascetta grape from near extinction and makes an exemplary wine from it. Straw yellow in color and smelling like a cross between a riesling and a moscato, the peaches and pears, white flowers, butter and white pepper combined with zippy acidity, an oily texture, and a bitter almond finish could only be a white from the Langhe hills. Exceptionally food friendly, it would stand up a treat next to buttery pasta dishes, risotto, and creamy mashed potatoes.
