Hardy blended three great vintages, 1906, 1908, and 1914, to make this remarkable blend. It comes in Cognac’s only bottle to receive approval to carry the “Authentic Pre World War I Vintage” label, packaged with in a custom Lalique decanter. The nose is fascinating, an intriguing blend of age and freshness, earthy mushrooms and fresh citrus peel, butterscotch, with a background of nuts and rosewater. The palate shows similar complexity, with deep earthy tones of mushroom and truffle, the same butterscotch, then blood orange, orange peel, toasted hazelnuts, and rose petals. The finish echoes for quite a long, with florals, spice and dried orange peel lingering a minute or more. Rare, special, and beautiful, this whole package is a work of art, in the bottle and the decanter. Very Highly Recommended. 98 Points.
