A creamy aroma wafted up from the glass when I first poured this chardonnay. As the wine opened, more of a buttery aroma and flavor kicked in. Some hints of fruit and vanilla emerged. All in all, it felt like a classic California chardonnay, in a good way – not overblown.
The perfect pairing for this wine turned out to be the winery’s recommendation of Butter Chicken – or Butter Tofu, of course – not too spicy, please. Though I’m not the biggest fan of winery preferences, it was perfect this time.
