A light red wine that’s easy to drink — and a little different from anything you might have tried before.
Though the winemaker calls this a casual wine, I found it to be elegant as well. There’s a beautiful, well-defined cherry and garrigue aroma. On the palate it’s fresh, with sweet fruit on the tongue giving way to dried cherries with burnt sugar edges. The wine is medium-light in body, and dances to the tune of its light brick-red color – though the liquid’s rim is surprisingly pale for such a young wine. Moderate tannins and acidity, which are nevertheless nicely balanced. Pair with herbed pastas and light meat dishes typical of the hilly countryside of northern Italy.
