2016 Furggl Lagrein Riserva
When opened, big aromas of dark-red fruit and earthiness wafted from the bottled, with a whiff of aromatic-sweetness. Fruity on the palate, more boldness than finesse. Probably at the top of its game now, as full as can be, with well-integrated tannins, some acidity — and enough heat in the finish to wonder about its labeled 13.5% alcohol.
FOOD PAIRING: Recommended with cheeses, game and other dishes with hints of umami.
