Sometimes when I’m watching a movie I see the people onscreen pour a medium-light red wine and sip it in such a satisfied way you know the wine is just perfect: not too fruity, not to dry, not too pretentious, very smooth and satisfying overall.  Well, this wine actually is like that mythical onscreen experience.  With a strawberry nose morphing into blueberry brickle, the wine has a mild opening, with bigger fruit appearing on the palate. It’s silky on the tongue, with integrated tannins that are deceptively mild yet help the wine stand up to food.  At this age, the wine opens pleasurably over time, so pour it out 15 minutes before you’re ready to drink it (or decant or aerate).  Then sip it slowly for another 15 minutes.  Good with a variety of medium to light dishes, meat or vegetarian. Highly recommended (91).
