Wine geeks need to get their nose out of the glass. When their eyes shift above the rim of the Riedel they just might notice the great people behind the counters, managing the wineries, not to mention the great areas where our favorite wines are made. Sometimes we don't tell the story and other times, I believe, we tell the wrong story. But often, a picture tells a great story.

2009 Winderlea Legacy Estate Pinot Noir

Clear, medium-light intensity, ruby. Clean aromas of earth, moss, leaves, dirt, anise, baking spice, fennel, savory herbs, dark fruit, cherry, blackberry. Dry, medium-full body, medium tannin, medium-low acidity, fleshy, round, medium-long finish, round, lush dark fruit, smoke, brown sugar. Recommended, but hold for another year.

2008 Winderlea Ana Pinot Noir

Clear, bright, medium, ruby color. Clean aromas of sweet fruit, black cherry, brown sugar, smoke, baked black fruit, cola. Dry on the palate, medium acidity, medium-low tannin, round, intense flavors, lush, red fruit, black fruit, Bing cherry, blackberry, plum, blueberry, cocoa, medium finish. Drink now, or hold for 5-7 years. Pair with slow smoked ribs. Recommended.
