NV Patrice Colin Perles Rouges

Translucent magenta in color. The nose is shy and gives no hint of the candied fruit to come on the palate. The flavors started light, shy like the nose, with strawberries and cherries. On the mid-palate it opened up with loads of candied red fruits. Smoke from dosage with Pineau d’Aunis shows on the finish. Drink with 80+% chocolate bits or bars. Recommended. DH

With great pricing, cool and attractive packaging, and deliciously drinkable wine, I'm still in a quandary why the Loire sparkling wine category as a whole is so overshadowed. Perhaps it's just the dictates of fashion, and their time to shine again is just around the corner.
