Rombauer's 2014 Cabernet is a rich, luscious wine that would compliment a great steak or stand on its own as an evening sipper. This is an under $50 cellar wine, so buy more than one. Highly Recommended. 92 points.
It has so much to offer, and with a few years downstairs it will all knit together beautifully. Highly recommended on spec, 90 points. DBH
This needs at least five years to loosen up and let the fruit flavors free.
If a Bonny Doon label says, "A Proper Claret," one thing you can be sure of is that it is not quite proper after all.
This is a very good wine at a reasonable price. Drink with a brilliant burger, ground prime with shaved truffles and onion straws.
Maybe I’d hate to see that tiny little plot of odd vines uprooted to make room for more really excellent Merlot. The preservation of the good of a few over achieving the best good of the many? Maybe, but Americans long ago decided that diversity is good for everyone.
