The heartrending pictures beamed around the world from Haiti caused thousands of people to open their purses and wallets to contribute to disaster relief. In the United States and Australia people have opened their cellars – wine cellars, that is.

Wine for Haiti Lot 6 – Five Wine Books from UC Press SOLD

The University of California Press has generously contributed a selection of any five books in their catalogue to Wine for Haiti. Books range in price from $25 to $50, making the total value of this auction lot as much as $500.00.

Wine for Haiti Lot 15 – 2006 Miller Wine Works Grenache SOLD

From the private cellar of Janet Majors of Catalyst Wine Group, three signed bottles of Miller Wine Works 2006 Grenache. Retail value $100.00.

Wine for Haiti Lot 14 – 1.5L 2005 Araujo Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard SOLD

Bart and Daphne Araujo, of Araujo Estate Wines, are very generous with their contribution of a 1.5L bottle of 2005 Araujo Estate Cabernet Sauvignon Eisele Vineyard. Retail value is $600.00.

Wine for Haiti Lot 60 – Two wines from Basilium SOLD

“Salvia Bianca is honored to contribute 2 bottles of wine from Basilium winery in Basilicata, Italy, Aglianico del Vulture DOC Riserva 2001, retail value $52, and Basilicata IGT Bianca “Albula” (white Aglianico) 2006, retail value $22.50.” Salvia, we are honored to accept them. Wine for Haiti Lot 57 – D’Argenzio Gold Medal Wines SOLD

D’Argenzio Winery generously contributed 4 bottles of their fine wines, two bottles of the 2004 Gold Medal Pinot Noir and two bottles of the 2003 Gold Medal Cabernet Sauvignon. Retail value is $192.00.

Wine for Haiti Lot 76 – Casa Larga Ice Wines SOLD

Casa Larga Vineyards was very generous to donate a 3-pack of their award-winning ice wines. In this pack will be one each of the following: 2005 Vidal Ice Wine, 2006 Vidal Ice Wine and 2007 Cab Franc Ice Wine. The 2005 Vidal Ice won the “World’s Best Dessert Wine” at the 2008 International Wine & Spirits Competition in London, England. Retail value: $205.00.

Wine for Haiti Lot 24 – 2006 Signaterra Benziger Family Winery Three Blocks SOLD

The Benziger Family Winery broke out their very best for Wine for Haiti, from their Signaterra line, a magnum of the 2006 Benziger Three Blocks. Retail value $100.00.
