2009 Gauchezco “Plata” Ma...

Overall feel is very lush, with silky tannins, moderate acids, and a long finish that ends where it started, with violets scents lingering. Well-priced for the quality, drink this and spend the money you saved on prime filet to match. Highly recommended. DH.

Joie 2011 A Noble Blend

Strikes a wonderful balance between the crispness of riesling, the floral aromatics of gewürztraminer and the friendly fruitiness of pinot blanc, all combining into a clean, long, expressive finish. A wine for all sorts of occasions, from simple summer sipping to accompanying grilled pork chops or fish in a cream sauce. Highly recommended..

On the sweeter side of off-dry. Hints of dried apricot and Meyer lemon on the mid-palate. Ripe, even bruised, rather than tart, apples linger on the finish. Recommended. DH

NV Gramona Imperial Cava Brut

Aged for 3 to 4 years, it has a certain complexity, with a beautiful, almost sensual texture, yet also a touch of citrus and apple. Being a brut, it is truly dry, just well-rounded by the aging. Very solid for the price. Delicious with dry-cured ham, chorizo, marcona almonds, olives, etc.

Medium purple color and nose of violets, anise, and blackberry with oak accents in the background. Tastes of dark cherry and toast on the palate with good tannic structure holding it up.
