2009 Brittan Chardonnay

Clear, medium intensity, straw yellow color. Clean, medium intensity aromas, yellow apple, cooked tropical fruit, candied lemon peel, spun sugar, and caramelized pineapple; simply intoxicating. Dry, full body, medium acidity, medium-long finish, candied orange, peaches and cream, slight butter, roasted apples, and pears. Pair with crab, lobster, or prawns. Highly recommended.

2009 Helioterra Columbia Valley Syrah

Clear, medium-deep intensity, plum purple in color. Clean nose with medium to medium-full aromas of dark fruit, plum, raspberry, blackberry, and savory herbs, rosemary, coffee. Dry on the palate with medium-full tannin, medium-low acidity, and flavors of cherry conserves, blackberry, sage, and oak. Needs time; pair with sautéed portabella mushrooms tossed with herbs and cooked raspberries. Recommended.

2010 Trisaetum Sauvignon Blanc

The first foray for this producer from Pinot Noir and Riesling—and just in time for summer. Bright, medium intensity golden color. Clean on the nose and incredibly aromatic—jumps out of the glass—bright grapefruit, pineapple, green apple, fresh herbs, and the sweet smell of freshly cut grass in the summer. Medium-high acidity on the palate, but with a lot of fruit sweetness. Clean flavors including pineapple, mango, Granny Smith apple, peach, grapefruit, watermelon rind, lime zest, herbs, and grass. Pair with grilled summer vegetables, scallops in cream sauce, or citrus glazed pork loin. Highly recommended.

2010 Trisae Pinot Noir Rosé

A new release from Trisaetum Winery, located in the Willamette Valley’s Ribbon Ridge AVA. The color is clear, pale pink with just a touch of copper. On the nose, aromas are clean and light to medium intensity, including orange zest, crisp apples, strawberry, and cherry. Light bodied and dry on the palate with medium acidity, and gentle flavors including fresh apple, plum, raspberry, cherry, and strawberry; simple and refreshing with a mild finish. Keep the pairings simple too—fresh fruit, poached salmon, or chicken salad. Recommended.

Clear, medium intensity, ruby red, bright. Clean nose, medium intensity aromas of red fruit, cherry, cranberry, strawberry, fresh mushroom, leaves, evergreen forest, dried flowers, baking spice, and bacon fat. Dry on the palate, elegant, medium-light body, medium to medium-high acidity, medium-low tannin, medium flavor intensity: red fruit, cherry, cranberry, apple skin, tart fruit, raspberry, dried violet. Medium-short finish. Pair with pasta in a red pepper sauce or herb-crusted pork tenderloin with raspberry glaze.

2008 North Valley Hyland White

Clear, bright lemon yellow color. Clean nose with medium-low intensity aromas of citrus, lime, steel, stone fruits, and slate. Dry, medium body, high acidity, medium alcohol, and flavors of green apple, lime, tart peach, and pineapple. Unbalanced acidity—even for an acid freak—and perhaps a little past its prime. Rough. Not recommended.
