The wine is very dark, almost completely opaque in the center. The nose shows great concentration, with black fruit depths and red fruit highlights, along with vanilla and a herb bouquet. The concentration follows through on the palate, too, with blackberries and cassis, and raspberry highlights. Vanilla, bouquet garni, and unsweetened chocolate come through on the mid-palate. Tannins are dusty and fine. This is a good wine at a great price. Drink with a thick blue cheese burger. Recommended. 89 points. DBH
