2009 Pelter Winery “Unoaked” Chardonnay David Honig April 3, 2014 Tasting Notes 1 Comment Soft, clean, and in good balance, this would pair nicely with trout almondine. The nose leads with apples and tangerines. Soft baked apples lead on the palate, tangerines follow on the mid-palate. Half the grapes were whole bunch pressed and there was no malolactic fermentation. Recommended. 89 points. WHO: Pelter Winery WHAT: Chardonnay WHERE: Israel, Upper Galilee (Golan Heights) WHEN: 2013 HOW MUCH: $12 Paula Tritt I truly love Chardonnays with the malolactic fermentation. Do you think I would enjoy this one as much? What does it mean to have the half the bunch whole pressed and how would that affect the wine? Thanks for any feedback.
