Complex and delicious, with sweetness bordering on cloying, Zacapa’s top of the line rum is a blend of rums aged from 6 to 20 years, with the last two years in Cognac barrels. Caramel, orange peel, and plantains fried in butter. On the palate it is sweet, rich, and smooth. Caramel and tropical fruits lead, fried plantains, fresh bananas, and hints of mango give way to vanilla, nuts, and a surprising pop of lemon. Clove, cinnamon, and dried orange peel run throughout.
