2009 Dry Creek Vineyard Estate Sauvignon Blanc DCV3

The nose clearly announces this will be a California sauvignon blanc. It offers up a very interesting blend of tropical fruit and citrus. The tropical leads, with mango and tangerine over white grapefruit, with a hint of cut grass. The palate is even more interesting and complex. The fruits are spicy, allspice and white pepper, all over the same blend of tropical and citrus fruits. A tiny hint of mesquite smoke shows on the mid-palate. The finish lingers with spice and lemon, with that same teasing background of smoke. Drink with stuffed flounder. Very highly recommended. DH.
