Wine for Haiti Auction Catalogue Palate Press January 31, 2010 Extra Features, FCG, Features 21 Comments To bid on any item in the catalogue, please click on the picture and enter your bid in the comments for each unique lot. As we create individual lots, they will be posted here, with a link to the individual lot. Individual 750ml bottles will be collected into larger lots. Large format bottles will go up right away as individual lots. Some auction lots will start “hot,” others will go hot once the bidding reaches suggested retail price. All lots will go “hot” after seven days on site. Once an auction lot goes “hot,” it ends when we go 24 hours without a bid. Auction lots that are “hot” are noted in the Catalogue. If we get into a bidding war between two or three people at the end we won’t make everybody wait a day, we will schedule a bid at a set time agreed upon amongst the contestants (and anybody else lurking and waiting, but interested). The winning bidder will be expected to pay shipping unless the lot description states otherwise (and many do). Palate Press: The online wine magazine will not accept payments from the auction winners. Instead, it will request that winners make their payment directly to the American Red Cross, Haiti Relief and Development,* using the email WineForHaiti@Palatepress.com and the business name “Palate Press.” We will receive confirmation of your contribution via email. This is done to assure bidders that all contributions go directly to the American Red Cross, Haiti Relief and Development. We may ask for a separate payment via PayPal for shipping for lots that do not specificy free shipping. Please direct all inquires to WineForHaiti@palatepress.com. It is available on our sister Wine for Haiti auction site in Australia, and the auction closes in two days. The second wine, to round out the case, is Smidge Wine Limited “S” Shiraz, 2006. This, too, is a wine you can not get in the US. Bid on each of them individually, or peruse the entire Aussie Wine for Haiti Catalogue. PLEASE NOTE- Shipping cited on the auction site is for Australia only. US bidders add $260.00 for shipping to the United States, plus whatever excise and other taxes apply. This is the shipping price for any case of wine from the Australian site. ALSO- is you do go over there to bid, could you make a comment at Lot 82 – Summerfield Wines Indulgence 2001 (6 b0ttles) and Smidge Wines Limited “S” Shiraz, 2006? We’re really testing this cross-platform attempt to move the Aussie wines. Thank you. Lot 84 – Pax Syrah Cuvee Keltie 2004 SOLD Tatiana Abramova, aka Gourmet Rambler, was one of the earliest contributors to our Wine for Haiti project, and it just slipped through my fingers. Fortunately, she caught it, and now we are delighted to offer this marvelous bottle of Pax Syrah Cuvee Keltie 2004 for auction. The retail value is $100.00.
