Joseph Drouhin Beaujolais Nouveau 2009
More like an ageable wine than a Nouveau. Cherry juice aroma with a pleasant touch of floral in the flavor and enjoyable cherry flavors. Good medium body and very nice tannins.

Why is the review listed as Joseph Drouhin Beaujolais Nouveau but in the “Who” section it says Georges Duboeuf?
Thanks Honora. It’s fixed now.
Le Beaujolais Nouveau is delightful this year. I’ve tasted 4 brands and they are all delicious. Very fruity, cherry and other berries. I know it’s before noon in the US but -lucky me- I live in Cannes. The city of Cannes had a free tasting, with yummy pates and cheeses, all of the shops and cafes offered something to celebrate. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Had the Drouhin Nouveau on Sat. Nov. 20. It must have been fresher in
Cannes and having it France I am VERY JEALOUS. I got front of the
mouth cassis, plum, prune. VERY fragrant very flavorful.
Just had the DeBoeuf I have to say it is very bland, flavorless, thin
it is what I expect from the young Gamay. The Drouhin was a pleasant
surprise. I want to try the Village of each next. Has anyone done so
yet??
I too have had both the Drouhin and the DuBouef and competely agree with Larry’s comment above. The Drouhin is hands down far better than the other, and almost tastes like a decent Beaujolais Village. I can’t wait to taste the 2009 Grand Crus in a few months, especially the Brouilly.
