Here is a French blend of Grenache Blanc, Chardonnay, and Marsanne
that is drinkable, affordable, and great value for the price point. The
wine has a beautiful light straw color with a nose of light citrus and
flowers. This Eric Soloman selection is a beautiful “bang for your
buck” white wine. It holds up nicely to food and would go great at a
cocktail parties. This is one of the best value whites I’ve found this
year!

That’s “Jean-Marc Lafage” not “Jean-Marie Lefarge.” Yes, it’s a very good value for the money; the nose suggests sweetness, but what you get on the palate is nice herbs and fruit and a surprising amount of mineral character on the finish. There’s a red, also, called “Cote Sud,” that blends syrah, grenache, and cabernet sauvignon, with lots of black fruit and earthy character.
