2003 Deerfield Ranch Pinot Noir Jemrose Vineyard

October 25, 2009 by David Honig

For a Pinot Noir, this wine is just huge, in my opinion too huge. Delicious and varietally correct pinot flavors of cherries, sage, cranberry and marjoram are shouldered aside by blueberries, vanilla, and chocolate. Tannins and acid are both low, overwhelmed by fruit and wood. This is not a food wine, but could serve solo as a snack, if you are so inclined.
